Charleston Peak Mojo Check (43x)

Harlan WS
June 8, 2017

Well, it has been a tough 3 months since my last post on Jumbo.  Two ER visits, 3 operations, all for kidneys stones and ureteral strictures. I spent too much time with a kidney-bladder stent. This was my hardest hike since stent removal and operation 23 days before.  It was not my fastest time up (3h 50m including breaks and wardrobe changes), but I carried a lot of crap and took the Devil's Thumb shortcut, so I could avoid most snow-trudging, yet get to use my crampons, overboots and ice ax. I'm guessing the snow could be carefully avoided within a day or two of my visit, via this route.

would have just gone
up the cliffs if I didn't
have gear.
