Chaz with DB But Not Chaz

(Charleston and Lee Peaks by a wild, mainly trail-less route)

This was DB’s 1^st time up Charleston… my 20^th.

	Starting out, just off Bristlecone Trail.	First saddle, view NE.
First good view of Lee Peak, N wall; some snow on the ledges.		View N to Mack’s Peak (L) and The Sisters (R)
Mummy NNE		McFarland in back.
Lots of steep traverses; we looked for the islands of rock among the scree.		View ~E over LaMadre to Frenchman
On top of Lee Peak.	Telescope Peak is the summit on the skyline; below is the lovely city of Pahrump.	In the distance, the white line of “clouds” is actually the snowy California Sierra. In the middle is Pyramid Peak near Death Valley; Chance Mt. is in the fore.
View toward Ski Area.	We approach Devils Thumb. Next we will climb the cliff in back.	The Trail and the top of Devil’s Thumb are visible at upper right, way below.
