Cleopatra Wash with LVMC

I had been out of the loop for 5 weeks with a grade 2 sprained ankle.  I had to be very careful, but was able to go 7 miles with some class 3.  At one point on a stiff class 3 bluff, I felt my ankle at the limit, so I self-rescued with my handy 50’ nylon strap.

We’re looking east in the narrows.

To the R is a 15’ flared drop.  I did this

drop in 2003, but the smart behavior is to

back up and take the cutover on the S side,

 ~0.1 mile W.

After I got to the top of this,

I decided the better part of valor was

to back down.  There were a few sharp

tweaks to my right ankle, and I

didn’t want to undo my healing.
