Hollow Rock and South Peaks in Red Rock, NV

Harlan W S
April 27 & 30, 2014

For years I avoided these "peaks" in South Red Rock, mainly because they have so little prominence, considering the rough drives to reach the eastern trailheads.  But the approach from the west side provides some good leg-stretching during the "shoulder season" - late spring or early fall, when the eastern (and lower) trailheads are too hot.

I had been to just Hollow Rock

Staying S (L in photo) is
generally easier.

View E to Susan M on top of
the aummit block, a sort-of

If you remember the
sequence of holds,
you don't need a handline
for the downclimb... but
caution, descent is MUCH
creepier than ascent.

looking E over the higher
