Lady Mt., Zion, Utah

This is the remnant of a former cable trail. The cables were removed long ago, but some crude cut steps and paint marks remain to guide the way. More detailed instructions are at www.hikinglasvegas.com (particularly good route photos), summitpost, and Tom's Canyoneering. The last description is a little over-the-top in recommendations of hardware and ropes; we didn't use anything, except to raise/lower packs. However, it is good to have ~100' webbing or rope as a back-up, with a small disposable sling and a few carabiners.

Thanks to CP, BW, NN and Donnie B for recommending this "hike".

GPS track. The mid section is highly uncertain, as the satellites were often blocked or gave reflected signals.

This is the top of the "class 4 chimney". Jim gives Mike advice: "don't fall". I wanted to get pictures of these guys climbing, but they popped up quickly while I was untangling (unneeded) webbing.

Mikey likes it! Looking down the supposed class 5 section.

Cerebellum test. Look at me! The wind was a little gusty, and I was not that gutsy.

Jim comes down the "class 5" section. We previously lowered the packs by rope. There are some good holds above Jim's head, and you can almost walk up the crack.
