It is with some trepidation that I list this peak. One can get to the trailhead with just modest to high clearance (4x4 not needed) since the powerline roads are maintained. It can be a class 2 hike to the benchmark. But climbing the tower (to the highest point) requires concentration on iffy rock. When I first climbed the tower -- aided by the route-finding of Luba -- I used no more protection than a 10' sling. We have tried hard to make the route less dangerous, but please contact me (hwstock AT alum DOT mit DOT edu) if you want details. I highly recommend the rap down, with a fresh sling and at least 140' of rope. Link for trip report to Castle Tower (NV)
