The real Arch Mountain,as designated on the USGS maps, is very hard to reach without a boat. But the boat-less climb can be done in a day, while passing over another more prominent peak. One wants to do this hike in cool weather, but the short days of winter give barely enough time to finish the trip. The pictured knife-edge can be avoided by elevation loss and side-hilling. A burly 4x4 lets one drive up a BLM road and avoid much of the nasty (but beautiful) up-and-down near the shores of Lake Mead. Link to Arch Mountain
