Trumbull-Toroweap

pics by Harlan W. S.
March 08-09, 2008

This trip was arranged by Chris M of the LVMC.

We drove S from near Colorado City Arizona, on rather rough roads.  The first day, we just walked along the rim near the Toroweap campground. The 2nd day, we took the step hike down to the Colorado River near Lava Falls (the hike starts on the west side of Vulcan’s throne, and is essentially trailless; route-finding is confusing).  The 3rd day, we went up snowy Mount Trumbull, and drove back home.

Here is a GPX (GPS) file of the trip which you may use at your own risk.
