Wheeler Peak in Spring Mountains

(near Las Vegas, NV)

This NOT the mountain in Great Basin. This peak is west of Cold Creek, and is normally accessed by taking the Wheeler Pass Road north, from near Pahrump. In 2004, the road was good, drivable by a slightly-high-clearance vehicle, FROM THE SOUTH; north of Wheeler Pass, the road is absolutely terrible. After parking the car at Wheeler Pass, head NW, then N and NNW to the summit. The ridge is quite brushy, but one can normally follow horse trails.
