See this info on Chrysler Crack Scramble, this for Tinaja Peak Crux
Tracy volunteered to help me test a "safer" way to take people over this loop. Only the first peak (Chrysler Crack) has any class 4/5, and some nasty exposure. The 1st link above gives directions. The 1st part of this route is basically the "walk-off" for the Chrysler Crack rock climb. The crack itself is rated 5.9, but the walk-off is just 5.2.  I've done this many times without gear, but this trip was intended to test a "protected" approach. We used 100' 8mm rope and two slings, plus one ascender for "comfort" (slid up the second line at 2nd crux).

Please do not put fixed lines on this route; leave it as a fun challenge.  Besides, rock climbers would remove fixed lines very quickly.

Zoomed out for context
01a
1st sight of Chrysler
Crack Peak on walk
in along Sandy
Corridor. I try to
stay R on higher
ground.
01b
The 1st crux, as
described here. There
is an excellent side-
pointing horn on the wall
to my back (south). I
tied a 2' loop with a
fig8-on-a-bight and
put the loop over the
horn, and used one
line to belay

Sandy Corridor is

Past 2nd crux,

the north side on
mostly "walking
terrain" to summit.

06
Tracy comes down
same stretch as in panel
above. A bit steep,
but there are subtle
friction holds.

Tracy is at top of 2nd
crux, preparing to
rap down.

pointing (hidden) flake

Tracy negotiates exposed
ledge that leads to Chrysler
Crack (5.9) base.
Alternately, one can keep
higher on rock to left and
downclimb (class 4) and
jump.
10
We rapped into the deep
slot SE of 1st crux; there
is an excellent pillar
natural anchor. The
slot bottom is ~35'
below pillar.

Next we head E on the
continuation of Sandy
Corridor.
13
Head L up sandstone
ramps, then to 3rd
W-trending gully on
L side
14 15
Tracy comes up that
3rd gully.
16
We wound around
W side of P1, and now
take another gully to
top. To get to P2,
one must descend back
down over ramps
in back (W) of Tracy,
then cut sharp R (N)
