3 Hamblins (Lake Mead Area, East of Las Vegas, NV)
Covid Lung Test 18 Years Later

When I hit the parking lot on the N side of Northshore Rd, there were already several cars, so I decided to leave the normal trail as soon as I could. Since I visited this area 18 years before (with Matt, Pierre, Val, Alda), my friend CP had written a guide and enthusiastically named everything, and all those lump names ended up on PeakBragger. I was blissfully unaware of how popular this area had become with list-tickers, and walked by Basalt Peak (which is actually made of Andesite) without being aware that it was a peak.

This was the first hike with over 3200' gain since I had a bad case of COVID-19, during which I lost 15% of my body mass.  I was still pretty whipped. I was on supplemental O2 4 weeks before, and was still coughing bloody sputum.
