Lucky Strike Quarantine Hike (Nevada, North of Spring Mts.)

This hike starts from a fairly low altitude. You could start at the generator station on the south of the Corn Creek Road at 3050', or drive a ways up the Lucky Strike Road. But is a HIKE FOR COOL WEATHER. A reasonable passenger car with short wheelbase and 5" clearance could be driven carefully to 3800' -- when the driver knows the car well.

It was never above 66F on the day I was there, with a 40 mph wind, and the clear sky made it seem hot at times.

Overall, this is an easy trip. If you take the ascent route I used, it is no more than class 2+, most of the time a walk; depending on how much you choose to follow the knife edge. South of Lucky Strike Peak, it is a very pleasant ridge walk most of the time. My descent canyon had a few class 3+ stretches.
