These peaks "near" Las Vegas were chosen because 1) they are interesting, even iconic; 2) none are on the DPS, LVMC or "52 Peak Club" lists; and 3) they are accessible by modest vehicles -- no burly 4x4 needed (with a few caveats). Check out the map, and pictures and descriptions below the map; the points on the map also have links to the more informative web sites.

I've ceratinly been up a lot more peaks out here, and people have already asked me what I didn't include such-and-such... well, it's subjective. For example, some peaks have a lot of brush (which I don't mind, but some abhor), and some I would rather keep obscure and largely unknown. Some I've reached via burly 4x4' I need to try them again with a more modest vehicle.
