The topo map is quite
deceptive. Spirit Mt
just to the north. |
This stretch was
class 3+, but it was
interesting to take
a ladder up the wet,
crumbly granodiorite |

The last, scary 70' |
Double A flakes his
rope so we can set
up a handline for the
ladder carriers |
The ladder bridged
a big gap below the
1st ledge |
|
It didn't seem this
steep, but the route
from the ladder top
to the ledge was
wet and not great rock. |

Dan has put in
~10 pieces of
protection (all
cleanly retrieved),
and is now aiding
over a roof |
Double A uses the
etriers, a push,
and sheer grit to
get over the lip,
while Bob stabilizes
the rope |
Top. I took 5 tries
to get over the lip
with my ascenders.
I finally realized I
was hindered by my
glove and a carabiner
attached to an etrier; I
had weighted the etrier
and blocked my ascender. |

Dan (L) and Double A
(R) on top. I wish I had
taken more photos of the
top, so I could see where
to snag a line. |
Bob comes up, using
my ascenders more
adroitly than I did. |

Bob prepares to rap
down on 7.5mm double
strand. |
