I named this peak as an afterthought, knowing that a very capable friend had never found a way to break through the cliffs that rim this summit. Then Tracy F sent me an e-mail, describing a route that involved just one tough stretch up a small wall, leading to an otherwise class 2/easy class 3 climb. I will qualify what is meant by small wall: Tracy is 6'7"! This peak and the two little peaklets to the north make a delightful half-day. The more daunting Castle Tower is to the west, waiting for the other half of the day. Link to trip report for Impossible Mesa
