This peak is approached from the Wheeler Pass dirt road out of east Pahrump; in most years, this road is very well-graded till the turn west for the peak. Even then the road was modest in 2010, amenable to slow-driving. The first part of the trip involves dodging around pinyons, junipers and mountain mahogany, but soon one comes to the rocky expanse of the northern peak, a surprise at this low elevation. The elevation spot check for the N summit is far from the highest point, so the N peak may be as high or higher than the S peak.
