This peak is several miles south of the main peak of Black Mountain, and south of the recently-named "Fracture Ridge." I last went here in 2005, before the meetup groups overwhelmed the Black Mountain Trail, and the BLM stepped in to take a perfectly good trail (made 13 years ago in spare time) and replace it with a fast-eroding mess. Fortunately, you can reach this mellow summit without the trails, and it is far enough away that it tends to be uncrowded. Park at the most recent Black Mountain trailhead.
