This peak, WNW of Charleston, is reached by the gravel road to Wheeler Pass. The road from the Pahrump side s normally well-graded, and drivable by a car with modest clearance; the road from the north is very, very rough, so don't make the mistake of thinking you can easily drive that side. The elevation of the peak is modest; it is a good choice for shoulder season, either late spring or late summer. The middle of the route is a bit brushy, through pinyon-juniper forest, but careful navigation usually finds a path of least resistance. The top is balded, and offset enough from the main ridge of the Spring Mountains, that the view is rather unusual. Link to trip report for Wheeler Peak in the Spring Mountains
