I first went up the west side of this mountain in 2008, and speculated on my website that the east side would be easier. I thought, "well, I better check that out as I don't want to mislead people." Then I went up the east side, only to find some friends had tried that route the day before! The hardest part of access is just finding your way through the maze of roads in NW Pahrump -- almost any vehicle can make it to the parking area. The east side route is class 2.
