The town of Searchlight -- the normal jump-off point for this hike -- is actually higher in elevation than the mountain! But don't let that discourage you. This hike has it all, including a copper mine, an arch, and jumping cholla! The summit involves a bit of class 3 on good rock, and you have to option of visiting the peaks to the west.
