Many people take a very rough 4x4 road (on the east) so they can make a short trip to the northern, higher summit. But by hiking from the pavement, you can make an incredible traverse over both summits, and see some really neat views. The traverse N from the south summit seems to hit a technical drop; but according to Bob Burd, with careful downclimbing, one finds a route that "goes" over that apparent drop, and doesn't require a big drop off the ridge.
